My father’s side of the family originated from Sicily and settled in New Mexico, where the “Chiaramonte Trading Post” was born. After being lost to a flood, my parents opened up another in Keystone, South Dakota years later. My dad is a self taught silversmith who learned very young, and sparked the passion for metalwork in myself. As this craft has become a tradition in our family, it was important that I honor it with my last name using the English translation, “Clear Mountain”.
